About the position

Barnes Aerospace East Granby, CT South Site is seeking a dynamic Senior Human Resources Generalist to play an integral role in contributing to the growth and profitability of the business. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and people engagement skills, effective coaching and facilitation abilities, and strong employee relations expertise. As a Senior HR Generalist, you will actively collaborate with and support the team in achieving its business goals and objectives while consistently delivering on commitments. In this role, you will support the deployment of the site growth strategy by effectively linking the human resources business plan and talent management system to deliver both Top Line and Bottom Line results through core business execution. You will partner with local leadership and leverage data analytics to facilitate action planning and make informed talent and people management decisions that enable organizational effectiveness and success. Additionally, you will work closely with the Regional HR Manager to develop and execute strategic workforce plans that align with manufacturing needs and commercial intelligence. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Barnes HQ team to fully deploy and utilize the Talent Management System (TMS) to drive talent acquisition, development, engagement, and retention in alignment with the business strategy. You will administer HR policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, acting as a liaison between employees and management to facilitate open communication and respond to inquiries regarding company policies, practices, and procedures. You will also support talent acquisition processes, actively participate in recruitment activities, and conduct new employee orientations to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. Furthermore, you will coordinate and administer the annual benefits open enrollment process, handle ongoing benefits administration, and support the administration of compensation programs, including annual performance reviews and merit planning. Conducting HRIS and HR self-audits to assure data integrity will also be part of your duties, along with maintaining applicant tracking required for Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) reporting. You will lead and coordinate various community relations and employee relations events and initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams on team projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment of the site growth strategy linking HR business plan and talent management system to deliver results.
  • Partner with local leadership and leverage data analytics for action planning and informed talent management decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Regional HR Manager to develop and execute strategic workforce plans.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management to facilitate open communication regarding company policies.
  • Facilitate counseling and problem resolution with employees and supervision.
  • Support talent acquisition processes and conduct new employee orientations.
  • Coordinate and administer the annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Support the administration of compensation programs including performance reviews and merit planning.
  • Conduct HRIS and HR self-audits to assure data integrity and complete monthly HR Scorecard.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity, confidentiality, and commitment.
  • Ability to collaborate and maintain good working relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task on various HR duties and projects.
  • Self-directed and flexible, able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to research and analyze data to draw conclusions and make sound recommendations.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification is desirable.
