About the position

The Senior Human Resources Generalist at Capstone Community Action is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and alignment with the organization's mission and values. This senior-level role requires significant HR experience and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide hands-on support.
  • Ensure HR practices and policies comply with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the organization.
  • Oversee benefits administration and Workers Compensation management.
  • Supervise staff and manage HR teams effectively.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in human resources with progressive responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Compliance-minded orientation with exceptional critical thinking skills.
  • Relevant education or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Human Resources Management Certification and/or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Experience with labor relations and working with a unionized workforce.
  • Extensive knowledge of Workers Compensation and Leave Management.
  • Experience in benefits administration.
  • Payroll and/or HRIS management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of community action programs and services.
