About the position

The Senior Human Resources Generalist role at Aston Carter focuses on managing time and attendance policies within a manufacturing environment. This position is critical for ensuring compliance with attendance policies, advising supervisory staff, and analyzing attendance data to improve employee engagement and reduce absenteeism. The role requires a strong understanding of labor laws and the ability to partner with various stakeholders to implement effective HR strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with supervisors to ensure the attendance policy is being followed and executed in a regular and timely manner.
  • Advise and coach supervisory staff on attendance-related issues and disciplinary steps in accordance with the respective Attendance Policy.
  • Partner with supervisors to issue disciplinary actions.
  • Be knowledgeable of wage and hour compliance laws for various states.
  • Manage companywide attendance point management, creating tracking, reporting, and delivering on action planning metrics.
  • Provide training to all locations on Rest and Meal break laws and practices.
  • Track, compile, and monitor the 7th working day volunteer sheet pursuant to State guidelines (CA only).
  • Analyze data regarding attendance, attendance points, Rest and Mealtime, and attestation.
  • Prepare reports and recommend action plans to combat tardiness, absenteeism, and turnover.
  • Develop and maintain attendance KPIs per location.
  • Partner with HR managers to identify attendance-related trends and develop applicable action plans.
  • Compile and retain a monthly record of absenteeism stats and metrics.
  • Develop and maintain Monthly Operations Review absenteeism metrics and stats.
  • Provide HR support to the HR team as needed, such as backup support for onboarding and training.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of HR experience within a Manufacturing setting, monitoring time and attendance, and enforcing attendance policy.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • High School Diploma (HSD) minimum.
  • Thorough knowledge of current US and California labor laws.

  • Experience in HR administration and employee relations.
