About the position

The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting and managing human resources policies, procedures, and programs. This position is responsible for supporting or managing a variety of HR functions, including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, performance management, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and maintaining employee records. The role ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations and provides internal support to associates and managers working under the direction of the human resource department leader.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with HR operations, administration and compliance, facilitating and communicating company policies and programs.
  • Assist or lead various projects, including the development of new processes, policies, compliance, employment documents, and research.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of HR systems and databases (e.g., ADP). Prepare and analyze reports necessary for departmental functions.
  • Manage and support the hiring and onboarding processes for exempt and non-exempt associates using standard practices and procedures.
  • Perform other HR-related tasks as assigned by the manager.
  • Manage complex employee relations and conduct investigations for employee complaints or concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience with ADP or other HR systems and software.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting various HR functions, including recruiting, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with HR leadership on special projects.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with employees and management.
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
  • Experience in administering HR employment laws and practices, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, OFCCP, ERISA, DOL, Worker Compensation, and OSHA.
  • Ability to act in accordance with HR policies and governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows environment (Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experienced in HRIS database management and accurate record-keeping.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional projects, implementing new processes, and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred but not required.
  • Specialized experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, development, employee relations, safety, training, labor relations, benefits administration, other HR processes and programs.
