About the position

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist who will play a pivotal role in providing professional-level Human Resources assistance, services, and guidance to various departments and programs within the organization. This position encompasses a wide range of Human Resources issues, including recruitment and selection, classification, compensation, benefits, training, labor relations, and other areas as assigned. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will be instrumental in ensuring that SCF's HR practices align with the organization's mission and vision, particularly in serving the Alaska Native population affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and other Native American communities within the geographical service area. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of the Alaska Native people, as this knowledge is critical to achieving SCF's vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will be expected to collaborate closely with various departments to address HR-related challenges and implement effective solutions that support the overall mission of the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to HR management, ensuring compliance with employee health requirements and maintaining a high standard of service delivery to all stakeholders. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will also be responsible for staying updated on HR best practices and legal requirements, contributing to the development of HR policies and procedures, and participating in training and development initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of the HR team and the broader organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional-level Human Resources assistance and services to designated departments/programs.
  • Manage recruitment and selection processes for various positions within SCF.
  • Oversee classification and compensation issues, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and provide guidance to employees regarding their options.
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Support labor relations activities and assist in resolving employee relations issues.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with employee health requirements and maintain necessary documentation.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field; OR equivalent training and Human Resources experience.
  • Four (4) years of professional Human Resources experience.
  • Must obtain PHR certification within one (1) year of date of hire.

Nice-to-haves
