About the position

The Senior HR Generalist at Danfoss will play a crucial role in fostering an engaged and productive workforce within the Danfoss Turbocor® compressor business. This position involves supporting organizational change initiatives, recruitment efforts, and employee relations, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The role is based in Tallahassee, FL, and includes responsibilities related to employee onboarding, policy interpretation, and the administration of various HR programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of organization change initiatives.
  • Assist in the recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt positions, students, and temporary employees.
  • Facilitate and maintain a new hire orientation program for successful new hire socialization and transition into the organization.
  • Interpret and apply human resource policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring consistent application and compliance with company policy.
  • Administer disability and FMLA programs, focusing on effective management.
  • Perform worker's comp intake processing and support leave of absence/return to work administration.
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues, developing appropriate steps for resolution.
  • Handle employee relations counseling, stay and exit interviews, and analyze data for management recommendations.
  • Support local Reward and Recognition initiatives.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement in HR services.
  • Administer and coordinate various human resources plans and procedures, assisting in policy development and review.
  • Participate in developing HR goals, objectives, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain employment records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO/AAP/ADA regulations.
  • Expand knowledge of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting HR management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3+ years progressive, professional HR generalist work experience, preferably in a manufacturing facility/environment.
  • Ability to maintain a flex work schedule to support employees and managers on off-shifts as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to objectively consult and coach employees and management through complex issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Outstanding interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
