About the position

The Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist at Performance Foodservice will play a pivotal role in managing the Benefits and Payroll functions at our Bowdoinham, ME location. This position is designed for an individual who is proactive and thrives in a dynamic environment, focusing on Associate retention and engagement. The HR Generalist will be a champion for Associate education regarding our Benefit Plans, ensuring that all Associates are well-informed and supported in their choices. This role will also involve partnering with management to create a positive onboarding experience for new hires, which is crucial for retention efforts. In addition to benefits management, the Senior HR Generalist will oversee the Leave of Absence process for all Associates, including ADA, FMLA, STD, LTD, and PLOA. This requires a thorough understanding of both Maine and Federal employment laws to ensure compliance and support for our Associates. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for ensuring that the payroll process is smooth and accurate, which is essential for maintaining trust and satisfaction among our team members. Furthermore, this position will assist with recruiting activities, contributing to the overall talent acquisition strategy of the company. This is an exempt position with a competitive salary based on experience, along with generous bonus potential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, particularly in benefits administration and payroll, and will be comfortable working directly with Associates to address their needs and concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Benefits & Payroll function for the location.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • 4 - 6 Years Human Resources generalist experience
  • Current and thorough knowledge of Maine & Federal employment law
