About the position

Chewy is seeking a Senior HR Specialist to join our growing team at our Plantation Headquarters. This role carries a high level of accountability and is crucial in ensuring the integrity of data related to all aspects of a team member's data life cycle. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive support for all wage and hour team member needs, which includes record auditing, corrections, and transactional support. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting the enterprise by performing high-quality work that aligns with business initiatives and complies with state, federal, and local regulations, as well as the company's guiding principles. In this position, the incumbent will represent HR Shared Services and work closely with various business segments, including Directors, VP, and C-suite members. They will analyze critical data to identify potential improvements and provide mentorship, knowledge, and support, particularly in relation to automated HR systems. Additionally, the Senior HR Specialist will drive the development of tools and technology aimed at improving compliance, enhancing service levels, and identifying strategic opportunities and objectives. Key responsibilities include analyzing, maintaining, and auditing HR records for accuracy and compliance, as well as identifying recurring errors or anomalies in collaboration with the Compliance and Legal team. The role involves resolving root causes and implementing standard processes and solutions to improve workflow and business processes. This includes conducting wage reviews, preparing and auditing incentives for payroll processing, managing HR business process flows, and overseeing the absence module for Paid Time Off, Unpaid Time Off, and Sick time accruals, all in accordance with Chewy's policies. The incumbent will also utilize Service Now (case management system) to enter or update team member records in Workday and/or Kronos, ensuring that all changes are accurately reflected in the system.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, maintain, and audit HR records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify recurring errors or anomalies in HR records and work closely with the Compliance and Legal team to resolve them.
  • Implement standard processes and solutions for improved workflow and business processes.
  • Conduct wage reviews and prepare/audit incentives for payroll processing.
  • Manage HR business process flows and oversee the absence module for Paid Time Off, Unpaid Time Off, and Sick time accruals.
  • Enter or update team member records in Workday and/or Kronos using Service Now.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to correct team member hours worked or time off under specific leave policies.
  • Maintain, audit, and correct timecards in Kronos according to pay policies and practices.
  • Import/load hours worked and time off from Kronos to Workday in preparation for payroll runs.
  • Complete audits in preparation for payroll processing.
  • Act as the HR representative for Directors, VP, and C-suite for complex cases and work with leadership to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support HR software upgrades, design, implementation, functional testing, and data validation.
  • Develop and deliver knowledge of business processes, policies, and system configuration in Workday and/or Kronos.
  • Create process-driven documentation and training for HR and end users on system functionality and procedures.
  • Lead and support various projects and company initiatives.
  • Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple high-volume tasks within established time frames.
  • Deliver training and operational support to internal customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 2-4+ years' experience in HR software systems, ideally Workday, Service Now, and Kronos.
  • Demonstrated analytical, methodical, and creative approach to resolving issues.
  • Accurate and thorough with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service focus and professional interaction from front-line to executive level.
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling critical and personal information.
  • Effective working independently and in a team environment.
  • Customer service orientation with an emphasis on accuracy, responsiveness, and clear communication.
  • Understanding of HR/Payroll function, processes, and leading practices is preferred.
