The Senior HR Specialist plays a pivotal role in contributing towards aligning business objectives with employees and management within designated business units. This position is integral to the Human Resources function, acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and staff, advocating for employees, and providing dedicated support to the assigned client group. The Senior HR Specialist formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This role requires maintaining an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition. In collaboration with the HR Business Partner, the Senior HR Specialist serves as a strategic partner to business leaders by understanding business goals and aligning them with people strategies, services, and programs. This includes guiding and supporting management in the performance management process, which encompasses goal setting, providing ongoing feedback, and conducting performance reviews. The role also involves partnering with the HRBP to provide HR expertise in areas such as feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development. Additionally, the Senior HR Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention. This includes preparing and maintaining reports related to HR metrics, such as turnover rates, retention, and employee engagement, to help guide strategic planning. The position ensures accurate data maintenance in Workday, including job titles, profiles, backfill entries, and organizational structure updates. Furthermore, the Senior HR Specialist partners with the Learning & Development team on training initiatives and needs, leads the coordination of onboarding and off-boarding of employees, and oversees the administration of leave programs in partnership with the Benefits team. The role may also involve assisting with visa and immigration matters in partnership with external providers as needed, and performing all other duties as assigned.
