About the position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a motivated and hands-on Test Engineer to join the hardware test engineering team. This team operates in a multi-disciplinary environment that includes mechanical, electrical, software, quality engineers, and technicians. The primary goal of the hardware test team is to advance the knowledge of robotics and enhance the efficiency of fulfilling millions of customer orders every day. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for creating program-level test strategies, test plans, and methods for various testing phases, including developmental tests, subsystem verification tests, and complete system verification and validation tests. These efforts will support new technology and product development programs, ensuring that the products meet the required specifications and performance standards. In this role, you will collaborate closely with hardware development engineers, technical operations (manufacturing engineering), and solutions engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include defining, executing, and reporting on verification and validation tests. You will work with program teams and development engineering to create effective test strategies that inform development processes and verify requirements. This position is crucial in ensuring that the products developed by Amazon Robotics are reliable, efficient, and meet the high standards expected by customers.

Responsibilities

  • Create program level test strategies, test plans, and methods for developmental tests.
  • Conduct subsystem verification tests and complete system verification and validation tests.
  • Collaborate with hardware development engineers and technical operations to define and execute verification tests.
  • Report on verification and validation tests to support new technology and product development programs.
  • Work with program teams to inform development and verify requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects.
