MicroSystems Automation Group (MSAG) is seeking a Senior II Civil Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Engineering Support (AES) contract. This position is integral to providing technical support to the FAA's Airport Engineering staff, focusing on all aspects of airport design. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and updating the 150 series Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs, and other Technical Guidance documents. The role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements, but may require occasional travel to various locations, including Washington, D.C. In this role, the engineer will evaluate engineering issues, review applicable regulatory requirements, and provide recommendations that align with FAA standards. The candidate will also support airport survey processes and ensure that airport construction and design criteria meet FAA requirements. Familiarity with FAA software systems, such as the Taxiway Design Tool for High Speed Exits and the FAA wind analysis program, is essential for this position. Additionally, the engineer will conduct compliance reviews of existing and proposed airport construction plans as directed by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in airport engineering, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the field, either in industry or government organizations. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or science is mandatory, and candidates must be eligible to achieve and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Professional engineering certification is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience with virtual collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
