About the position

The Senior Implementation Manager position at ACS Professional Staffing is a critical role that provides technical and support services to Enterprise Risk Projects. This position is designed for an experienced professional who will ensure high-quality, safe, timely, and budget-compliant project execution. The successful candidate will be based on-site in Richland, WA, and will work closely with Project Managers to challenge execution strategies and validate project readiness. This full-time role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems within nuclear, steam-cycle, and regulated industrial environments, as well as the ability to oversee complex project activities and provide guidance to teams. In this role, the Senior Implementation Manager will conduct iterative reviews of key project documentation, refining strategies to improve schedule performance, quality, and resource efficiency. The individual will be responsible for identifying and correcting errors in project documentation, including schedules, implementation methods, risk registers, and budget estimates. A significant part of the job involves validating the quality of Work Order Tasks (WOT) and ensuring they meet established work management processes. The manager will also review and enhance testing and acceptance plans, ensuring that all activities are well-prepared and executed effectively. The position requires strong communication skills, as the Senior Implementation Manager will provide timely feedback to Project Managers and Department Management regarding project strategies and implementation plans. The role also involves overseeing shop or field activities, coaching teams to adhere to approved project strategies, and coordinating resources with vendors to eliminate roadblocks. The manager will attend key strategy meetings and serve as the designated person in charge of project activities during shifts opposite to the Project Manager, overseeing large crews when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct iterative reviews of key project documentation to refine strategies and improve schedule performance, quality, and resource efficiency.
  • Identify and correct errors or misconceptions in project documentation, including project schedules, implementation methods, risk registers, work orders, quality control inspections, commissioning plans, materials, and budget estimates.
  • Validate the quality of all Work Order Tasks (WOT) for assigned scope before field activities, ensuring they meet Columbia work management processes.
  • Remediate WOTs that lack quality, contain incorrect references, introduce error traps, or have poorly written instructions.
  • Review, comment, and improve testing and acceptance plans, including factory, shop, site, mock-up, and post-modification plans.
  • Identify activities and processes that would benefit from mock-ups and provide input to make them effective and impactful.
  • Communicate personal operating experience and identify relevant industry operating experiences to develop response strategies.
  • Serve as the ASME Person in Charge (PIC) for Section XI Repair & Replacement Plan work scope as needed.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge base of associated codes, standards, innovative technologies, technical skillsets, implementation strategies, and industry trends related to supported Enterprise Risk Projects.
  • Provide timely and candid feedback to Project Managers, Oversight Managers, and Department Management on project strategies and implementation plans.
  • Oversee shop or field activities, ensuring they progress according to the approved project strategy and provide coaching to preclude plan changes.
  • Serve as the designated person in charge of project activities during shifts opposite to the Project Manager, overseeing crews greater than 50 individuals when necessary.
  • Coordinate resources and collaborate with vendors to identify and remove roadblocks.
  • Attend key strategy meetings with the Project Manager, including Design Review Boards, Steering Committees, Integrated Implementation Briefings, High Risk Work Plan Challenge Meetings, Project Readiness/Challenge Meetings, Schedule Development Meetings, and Risk Management Meetings.

Requirements

  • Advanced (graduate) degree in a related field of study or business AND 10 years of Electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or business AND 12 years of Electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • OR Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND 14 years of Electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED AND 16 years of Electrical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • Certifications associated with electrical disciplines, construction, or projects are desired.
  • Proficient in Enterprise Management Software (e.g., Asset Suite, SAP).
  • Intimately familiar with logic-driven schedules generated by Primavera and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of code and regulatory requirements related to maintenance and field work activities.
  • Expertise in error reduction, human performance improvement methods, and cost-effective work execution methodologies.
  • Understanding of procedures and processes related to maintenance and engineering activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Proven experience in construction management.
  • Proven experience in multiple refueling outages at a commercial nuclear power plant.
  • Proven experience with production and operational processes at a commercial nuclear power plant.
