About the position

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Senior Implementation Manager to work on-site in Richland, Washington. This role is pivotal in providing technical and support services to Enterprise Risk Projects. The Senior Implementation Manager will be responsible for ensuring that project deliverables are executed with the highest quality, safety, and efficiency, adhering to schedules and budgets. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $84.67 to $112.06 per hour, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. In this role, the Senior Implementation Manager will review key project documentation to identify opportunities for improvements in scheduling, quality enhancement, and resource optimization. The key documents involved include project schedules, implementation means and methods, risk registers, quality control inspections, and various plans related to testing and commissioning. The manager will validate the quality of Work Orders (WOTs) associated with their scope before field activities commence, ensuring compliance with Columbia work management processes. They will also be responsible for remediating any WOTs that lack quality or contain errors. The Senior Implementation Manager will provide input and guidance on testing and acceptance plans, and will identify activities that would benefit from mock-ups. They will share their personal operating experience and develop response strategies for each example. Additionally, the manager will serve as the ASME Person In Charge (PIC) for Section XI Repair & Replacement Plan work scope as needed, maintaining a broad knowledge base of associated codes, standards, and innovative technologies relevant to Enterprise Risk Projects. The position requires timely and candid feedback to project managers and department management regarding project strategies and implementation plans. The Senior Implementation Manager will oversee shop or field activities to ensure adherence to the approved project strategy and will provide coaching to prevent deviations from the plan. They will coordinate with vendor resources to identify and eliminate roadblocks and will attend key strategy meetings as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Review key project documentation to identify opportunities for schedule improvements, quality enhancement, and resource optimization.
  • Identify errors or misconceptions for successful project implementation.
  • Validate the quality of all WOTs associated with assigned scope before field activities, ensuring adherence to Columbia work management processes.
  • Remediate WOTs that lack quality, contain errors, or poorly written instructions.
  • Review, comment on, and improve testing and acceptance plans.
  • Identify activities or processes that would benefit from mock-ups and provide input to make them effective.
  • Share personal Operating Experience and identify industry-related experiences relevant to project activities.
  • Develop response strategies for each Operating Experience example.
  • Serve as the ASME Person In Charge (PIC) for Section XI Repair & Replacement Plan work scope as needed.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge base of associated codes, standards, and innovative technologies related to Enterprise Risk Projects.
  • Provide timely and candid feedback to Project Manager(s) and Department Management on project strategy and implementation plans.
  • Provide oversight of shop or field activities to ensure adherence to the approved project strategy.
  • Offer coaching as needed to prevent changes to the plan.
  • Serve as the designated person in charge of project activities on shifts opposite of the Project Manager, overseeing crews of over 50 individuals when required.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with vendor resources to identify and remove roadblocks.
  • Attend key strategy meetings with the Project Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • Requires an advanced (graduate) degree in a related field of study or business AND 10 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • OR a bachelor's degree in a related field of study or business AND 12 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • OR an associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND 14 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • OR a High School Diploma/GED AND 16 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in construction management.
  • Proven experience in multiple refueling outages at a commercial nuclear powerplant.
  • Proven experience with the production and operational processes at a commercial nuclear powerplant.
  • Proven experience with feedwater heaters and internals of feedwater heaters.
  • Proven experience with steam systems and/or work associated with ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel code vessels, heat exchangers, piping, and valves.
  • Certifications associated with mechanical disciplines, construction, or projects are desired.
  • Skilled in Enterprise Management Software (Asset Suite, SAP, etc.).
  • Intimately familiar with logic driven schedules (generated by Primavera and/or Microsoft Project).
  • Knowledge of code and regulatory requirements as they relate to maintenance and field work activities.
  • Familiarity with error reduction and human performance improvement methods, and cost-effective work execution methodologies.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
