About the position

dormakaba is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer (Materials) to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for designing and analyzing elements including product dimensional profiles, product flow and transportation methods, time studies, metrics analysis, value stream mapping, KPI tracking, etc. The Senior Industrial Engineer will contribute to process improvement and standardization efforts, as well as identify and troubleshoot bottlenecks and implement flow improvement methods. This role is crucial in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, ultimately supporting our mission to provide seamless access solutions in various sectors such as schools, banks, airports, and hospitals. In this position, you will identify facility design requirements based on activity levels and product dimensional profiles. You will develop production time studies, head count analyses, downtime analyses, and efficiency improvement plans, as well as conduct warehouse slotting and SKU velocity analyses. The role also involves analyzing inbound, outbound, and inventory operations to create and maintain optimum warehouse operations. You will perform value stream mapping, process improvements, and standardization, while tracking KPIs and developing basic analytics for all operational metrics. Additionally, you will specify material handling and storage equipment solutions, as well as automation. You will develop and manage project plans for major operational improvement activities and work with vendors to identify operational equipment and automation solutions. Creating control documents for the Materials department to aid in training and efficiency will also be part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or a related field
  • 2+ years Lean/Continuous Improvement experience
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
