About the position

The Senior Industrial Engineer (Process Quality) position at the U.S. Mint in Washington, D.C. is focused on enhancing product quality through leadership in operational excellence initiatives. The role involves utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies, serving as a quality systems expert, and participating in cross-functional teams to ensure that product specifications are met. The incumbent will also engage with customer representatives to address quality control issues and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational excellence initiatives utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Serve as a quality systems expert responsible for implementing Quality Assurance Systems.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams regarding the quality aspect of new product development.
  • Meet with customer representatives to address quality control problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Advise on and review programs, prototypes, and equipment specifications for process capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent, including leadership in quality systems processes, reviewing product drawings, and executing corrective actions.
