About the position

As a Senior Engineer in Warehouse Design at GXO Logistics, you will lead the development of comprehensive design packages that encompass various aspects of warehouse operations, including material flow, facility layouts, and equipment designs. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient logistics solutions and involves collaboration with multiple teams to analyze data, prepare engineering documentation, and support business development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Data Analytics team to analyze client data to determine order profiles and storage media application.
• Prepares engineering calculations and documents to describe solutions and operating concepts such as storage and shipping capacity.
• Designs overall facility layout, storage media, and flow paired with appropriate equipment.
• Supports the business development process by responding to RFPs and presenting to potential clients.
• Leads detailed engineering processes on new business awards, developing material handling specifications and generating AutoCAD layouts.
• Conducts joint planning sessions with clients and performs gap analysis to resolve issues and document changes.
• Prepares WMS configuration documentation for new business implementations, including slotting and allocation rules.
• Manages material handling and automation vendors through installation and performance testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 2 years of engineering experience in supply chain management, logistics, warehousing or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience in an AS9100 or ISO9001 production environment.

Nice-to-haves

• 7 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer.
• Extensive AutoCAD experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Experience with time study measurement, such as MOST.
• Third-Party Logistics (3PL) experience in warehousing or distribution centers.
• Analytical skills and project/resource management experience.
