About the position

The Senior Industrial Engineer at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) will play a crucial role in supporting ongoing research and development efforts, particularly in the functional characterization of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) facilities. This position involves innovative design, dynamic project management, system analysis, and leadership in engineering projects, focusing on both large-scale and small-scale industrial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Characterize the structure and operation of WMD facilities, including clandestine ones.
  • Conduct reverse engineering of systems and processes.
  • Engineer precise load calculations, system sizing, and performance predictions.
  • Create and refine detailed technical drawings and schematics.
  • Spearhead projects from vision to reality, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors.
  • Present project reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Perform industrial engineering analysis to identify fault exploitation opportunities.
  • Advance reverse engineering capabilities.
  • Mentor and inspire junior engineers and technicians.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative learning environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in solving DoD or industry industrial engineering problems.
  • Practical experience in industrial engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical analyses to non-experts and senior government representatives.
  • Strong written communication skills for expressing technical analysis results.
  • Research and development experience related to WMD facilities and processes.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • TS clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of experience in solving DoD engineering/science problems.
  • TS clearance with eligibility for SCI based on a single-scope background investigation.
  • Military or defense-related experience with an understanding of operational planning and functional defeat of hard targets.
