About the position

The Senior Industrial Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes at Franklin Electric, focusing on producing the right product in the right quantity at the lowest standard cost. This position involves evaluating labor standards, facility layouts, and process methods while ensuring ergonomic and cost improvements. The engineer will also lead safety investigations and maintain plant layouts, contributing to the company's commitment to innovative water solutions and social responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the direct labor content of manufacturing methods using appropriate work measurement techniques to establish and maintain time standards.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data from ergonomic evaluations to develop the lowest total cost solution.
  • Helps lead safety investigations, focusing on root cause analysis and solutions.
  • Evaluates indirect labor associated with direct labor operations, including setup, process maintenance, and material handling.
  • Maintains plant and departmental layouts.
  • Prepares detailed operations planning and operator-oriented information system documents necessary to interface operations with marketing, engineering, accounting, and data processing.
  • Defines, specifies, quotes, orders, and implements material handling equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (required).
  • Five to ten years of related experience (required).
  • Lean manufacturing and Kaizen implementation experience (required).
  • Demand Flow implementation experience (preferred).
  • Intermediate computer skills in CAD software, alphanumeric data entry, and spreadsheets.
  • Basic word processing/typing skills.
