About the position

The Senior Industrial Engineer at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) will play a crucial role in supporting ongoing research and development efforts, particularly in the functional characterization of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) facilities. This position involves innovative design, dynamic project management, and cutting-edge system analysis, with a focus on reverse engineering industrial processes. The successful candidate will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Characterize the structure and operation of WMD facilities, including clandestine ones.
  • Conduct reverse engineering of industrial processes.
  • Engineer precise load calculations, system sizing, and performance predictions.
  • Create and refine detailed technical drawings and schematics.
  • Spearhead projects from vision to reality, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors.
  • Present project reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Perform industrial engineering analysis to identify fault exploitation opportunities.
  • Advance reverse engineering capabilities.
  • Mentor and inspire junior engineers and technicians.
  • Foster a collaborative and continuous learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in solving DoD or industry industrial engineering problems.
  • Practical experience in industrial engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical analyses to laymen and senior-level government representatives.
  • Strong writing skills to express technical analysis results clearly.
  • Research and development experience related to WMD facilities.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • TS clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of experience in solving DoD engineering/science problems.
  • TS clearance with eligibility for SCI based on a single-scope background investigation.
  • Military or defense-related experience with an understanding of operational planning and functional defeat of hard targets.
