About the position

The Senior Industrial Engineer at Olympus Corporation of the Americas plays a pivotal role in leading the planning, strategy, and execution of industrial engineering for Single Use Endoscopes (SUE) product and process development and launch. This position is responsible for developing and improving industrialization plans in collaboration with manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, and production teams. The goal is to ensure that manufacturing production is safe, efficient, reliable, and scalable for volume manufacturing, adhering to the highest standards of quality and compliance in a regulated medical device environment. In this role, the Senior Industrial Engineer will establish comprehensive plans and complete industrialization activities to meet project goals. This includes specification development, line layout, ergonomics evaluation, cycle time optimization, line balancing, and facility requirements. The position requires collaboration in the development of capable production processes that align with operational objectives, working closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Equipment Engineering within Operations, as well as other functions. The engineer will also partner with production teams to ensure that the voice of operations is incorporated into product and process design, facilitating an effective handover to manufacturing production teams. Evaluating all available internal and external operational SUE product launches for manufacturing layout, work content, and efficiencies is crucial for meeting demand. The engineer will select and implement appropriate technologies that lead to lower manufacturing costs, reduced process variability, and enhanced manufacturing capability. Additionally, the role involves simulating manufacturing workflows to optimize production flow and standardizing engineering tools while establishing best-demonstrated practices. The Senior Industrial Engineer will provide coaching and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
