About the position

The Senior Industrial Engineer at Perdue Farms is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness within the manufacturing environment. This role involves developing engineered standards, improving processes, designing workplace layouts, managing supply chains, and ensuring quality control through statistical analysis. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to optimize production systems and support regional business unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineered standards for manufacturing processes.
• Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes.
• Design the physical layout of workplaces, including equipment and workstation arrangements.
• Optimize the flow of materials, information, and resources in supply chain management.
• Manage inventory flow, including ordering, receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
• Conduct statistical analysis and quality control to meet specified quality standards.
• Perform time and motion studies to enhance worker movements and processes.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred experience in poultry or food manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting a manufacturing supply chain with various processes.
• Certifications such as Green Belt in Six Sigma are preferred.
• Strong time management skills and ability to act as a change agent.
• Effective communication skills and ability to train others in industrial engineering topics.
• Strong analytical skills for research, problem-solving, and data interpretation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, SAP, and simulation modeling software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in food manufacturing is a plus.
• Certifications in industrial engineering or related fields.
