About the position

HTI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial/Logistics Engineer to join a Tier 1 automotive supplier in Summerville, SC. This full-time, onsite position is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a significant impact in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and implementing supply chain improvement initiatives, focusing on designing and implementing material flow and storage strategies based on Lean Manufacturing methodologies. This role requires a deep understanding of the automotive supply chain and the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, third-party logistics partners, and customers to enhance cycle times and reduce costs. In this position, you will establish, maintain, and communicate material flow specifications while coordinating the resolution of internal and external issues. You will also develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve material flow from suppliers to production operations and ultimately to customers. Supporting the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices and ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards will be crucial aspects of your role. Additionally, you will lead both systematic and physical logistics ramp-ups for new program launches, perform logistics cost calculations, time studies, and costing studies, and have the opportunity to assist with new automation and AI-controlled automation projects. This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $98,000 per year, depending on experience, along with excellent comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and have at least 4 years of experience as a Logistics Engineer or Industrial Engineer within the automotive sector. Experience with SAP is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with creating and implementing tools for monitoring supply chain operational performance, including forecasting and freight network optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and implementation of supply chain improvement initiatives, including designing and implementing material flow and storage strategies based on Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Improve flow of parts with suppliers, third-party logistics partners, and customers to achieve better cycle times and reduced costs.
  • Establish, maintain, and communicate material flow specifications, and coordinate resolution of internal and external issues.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to measure and improve material flow from suppliers to production operations and to customers.
  • Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • Lead both systematic and physical logistics ramp-ups for new program launches.
  • Perform logistics cost calculations, time studies, and costing studies.
  • Assist with new automation/AI-controlled automation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Logistics Engineer or Industrial Engineer with an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
  • Experience creating and implementing tools for monitoring automotive industry supply chain operational performance, including forecasting, building database infrastructure and front-ends, and freight network optimization.
  • Experience creating/updating facility layouts in accordance with AIAG/VDA standards using MS Excel, MS Visio, and 2D modeling software is preferred.
