About the position

BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment at their Merrimack, New Hampshire facility. This role involves working closely with multi-disciplinary teams and adapting to a changing production factory environment, providing an exciting opportunity to influence the successful execution of production goals and achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be skilled in process and capacity modeling using Pro Model or other simulation software. Experience in maximizing workflow and efficiencies for manufacturing layouts using lean six sigma methodologies is essential. Expertise in tool design, machining, validation, and control is also required. A background in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering with demonstrated experience in effectively implementing changes to manufacturing lines will be key to supporting current and future needs within the Advanced Composite Manufacturing factory. In this role, the Senior Industrial Engineer will make impacts in several ways. Responsibilities include using process data to identify opportunities to eliminate waste, managing facility layouts, utilizing capacity plans, and creating value stream maps to set up cost-efficient manufacturing cells. Additionally, this position will support tool and fixture creation, documentation, and control to meet manufacturing needs. The Senior Industrial Engineer will play a key role in fostering a high-performance culture by managing projects in areas such as lean manufacturing, metrics standardization, and data analysis simplification.

Responsibilities

  • Use process data to identify opportunities to eliminate waste.
  • Manage facility layouts and use capacity plans to set up cost-efficient manufacturing cells.
  • Support tool and fixture creation, documentation, and control to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Manage projects in areas such as lean manufacturing, metrics standardization, and data analysis simplification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other Engineering discipline.
  • Experience using ProModel or other simulation tools to assist with factory layouts and capacity planning.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or other computer-aided drafting software.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing processes and workflow for continuous improvement opportunities using Value Stream or Flow Mapping.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing change in manufacturing areas.
  • Strong experience with software programming (e.g., Visual Basic, Java, C, C++, Python, HTML, XML, etc.).
  • Experience using data visualization products such as Tableau, APEX, Power BI is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of J-STD-001, IPC 610, AS9145 specifications and standards.
  • Must be a US citizen and capable of obtaining a Secret Government Clearance.
