About the position

The Senior Industrial Engineer at Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems will be responsible for driving continuous improvement activities aimed at optimizing business operations and enhancing product quality. This role requires collaboration across various functions including production, engineering, programs, and finance, and is ideal for individuals with a growth mindset and high energy.

Responsibilities

• Utilize LEAN methodology to analyze data and identify areas for improvement in production and business operations
• Lead cross-functional teams to determine strategically-aligned, impactful process improvement opportunities
• Design and implement sustainable LEAN manufacturing processes to increase velocity and reduce waste
• Facilitate a variety of LEAN and Six Sigma events and activities with employees at all levels
• Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success
• Provide training and support to employees on continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or process improvement
• Experience in leading and coaching through Lean transformations
• Ability to energize and influence change efforts at all levels of the organization
• Ability to see process improvement opportunities in the Gemba
• Experience in Change Management (ADKAR model or similar)
• Impeccable interpersonal skills and able to motivate a diverse team
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Candidates must be US citizens (no dual citizenship) and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD
