The Senior Industrial Hygienist (CIH) position at Aarcher involves developing and implementing comprehensive industrial hygiene programs to ensure workplace safety and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities

• Perform air sampling, noise monitoring, and other specialized tests to assess exposure levels and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated with new regulations and industry trends, recommending changes to existing programs and practices.
• Develop and implement comprehensive industrial hygiene programs, policies, and procedures for compliance with regulations and best practices.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits for compliance assurance.
• Work with management, engineering, and operations teams to design and implement effective controls and PPE to reduce workplace hazards.
• Act as a resource for management and employees on industrial hygiene and occupational health matters.
• Conduct incident investigations related to occupational illnesses or exposures and implement corrective actions.
• Perform comprehensive worksite evaluations to identify potential health hazards.
• Analyze and interpret data from monitoring activities and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
• Provide training and educational programs on industrial hygiene topics to employees.
• Act as the primary site expert on laboratory and chemical hygiene issues.
• Review and authorize new chemical requests and create training for new chemicals or hazards as needed.
• Ensure adequate PPE and controls are in place in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Assist research and development with chemical requests and other tasks.
• Work with the Hazcom team to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates for customers.
• Uphold all policies and ensure strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support a high-performing team.

Requirements

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from an accredited institution (BCSP, ABIH, AAEES).
• Bachelor's degree in occupational health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, such as OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and local health and safety laws.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and industrial hygiene software for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques and experience in developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Experience in conducting training programs and delivering presentations on industrial hygiene topics.
• Ability to travel to various worksites as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work as a leader, team member, and independently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in task performance.
• Regular and punctual attendance.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is highly desirable.
• Master's degree in occupational health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
