About the position

The Senior Industrial Water Process Engineer will play a crucial role in expanding Geosyntec's water and wastewater engineering practices across the Carolinas. This position involves leading innovative projects, managing technical and financial evaluations, and supporting the design, permitting, and construction stages of complex water and industrial wastewater projects. The role also emphasizes business development, client management, and mentoring junior staff, contributing to the growth of a sustainable engineering practice within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic business planning to target specific industrial, commercial, and municipal clients for water-related projects.
  • Implementation of a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue.
  • Project management and oversight of technical issues, budgeting, and adherence to quality and safety protocols.
  • Recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior staff and mid-career engineers and scientists.
  • Reviewing and leading the preparation of technical documents, drawings, specifications, and proposals.
  • Performing and overseeing detailed water/wastewater process engineering design.
  • Applying innovative treatment processes for mitigating polluting contaminants.
  • Developing report plans for sampling, feasibility studies, and design basis.
  • Preparing technical reports, including feasibility studies and treatment process evaluations.
  • Participating in meetings with clients and regulatory personnel, and conducting fieldwork as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred).
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.Eng.).
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in the consulting industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with industrial and municipal clients in water supply and treatment projects.
  • Working knowledge of local regulations.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple project assignments and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
