At Takeda, we are a forward-looking, world-class R&D organization that unlocks innovation and delivers transformative therapies to patients. By focusing R&D efforts on four therapeutic areas and other targeted investments, we push the boundaries of what is possible in order to bring life-changing therapies to patients worldwide. Join Takeda as a Senior Informatics Engineer where you will manage scientific data, troubleshoot data issues, and ensure the smooth flow of information throughout the suite of tools used to track potential therapeutic molecules. You will also collaborate with scientists, automation and data management teams, and external partners to understand challenges in their workflows and identify/prioritize opportunities for improvement. As part of the Informatics and Automation team, you will report to the Head of the team and help accelerate drug discovery and development by automating workflows and establishing seamless acquisition and utilization of data. Here, you will help develop the strategy, roadmap, and execution for managing all data generated in Global Biologics. In this role, you will work with scientists across Global Biologics to develop end-to-end data management capabilities for biologics discovery. You will work across cross-functional teams in the business, Research Technologies, Lab systems, and external vendors to develop standardized analysis protocols, data curation methods, and ontology-based data models for all Global Biologics data. You will plan for and lead the development and deployment of code that enhances the capabilities of software solutions like Genedata Biologics and ATLAS. Additionally, you will curate and annotate scientific data stores to ensure fidelity between laboratory observations and recorded data, provide ad hoc data analyses and visualizations to further insights into scientific data, and identify recurring issues to implement solutions in collaboration with internal and external colleagues. You will also collaborate with software vendors and the central Research Informatics teams for the deployment and maintenance of systems and integration with other databases. Furthermore, you will work with machine learning colleagues across Takeda to develop an active learning system that continually trains machine learning models on data from biologics experiments and uses these data to inform subsequent experiments. Documenting best practices to ensure efficient use of scientists' time and maximizing the value of insights provided will also be part of your responsibilities. You will guide scientists in the proper use of tools and work hands-on with them to address challenges, as well as provide training to users of systems tracking scientific data in Global Biologics.
