About the position
The Insider Risk Team Lead at Western Digital is responsible for overseeing digital forensic investigations, mentoring team members, and interfacing with legal departments. This hands-on role requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of various technologies, including operating systems and network protocols, to investigate threat signals and develop indicators of insider risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead digital forensic investigations related to insider risk.
- Interface with legal teams and business leaders to communicate findings.
- Mentor and coach junior team members in forensic investigation techniques.
- Develop indicators of insider threats and investigate threat signals.
- Deliver investigation reports to management and legal teams.
Requirements
- Ability to independently complete assigned responsibilities and drive forensic investigations.
- Working knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and ability to articulate events and user activity.
- Understanding of user behaviors that endanger the company's intellectual property.
- Knowledge of system behavior and artifacts associated with removable media and file shares.
- Ability to read and interpret firewall and DNS logs for data leak identification.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, to explain DLP events to management and legal teams.
- Basic understanding of scripting in Python and PowerShell.
