About the position

The Senior Information Systems Security Engineer role within the Simulation, Training, and Solutions (STS) business area at Collins Aerospace focuses on developing and building simulators and training systems for military and commercial customers. This position involves working with advanced technology to create real-world applications that support warfighters, offering a dynamic work environment with opportunities for career growth and flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions to meet DoD security requirements.
  • Assists Government ISSM with Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation activities.
  • Responsible for the configuration, building, deployment, and maintenance of Windows/Linux operating systems environment.
  • Configures and maintains servers, workstations, network devices, and printers in accordance with DoD STIGs.
  • Conducts and remediates vulnerability scans for all accredited devices.
  • Installs and tests system updates as required.
  • Sets up user accounts in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Provides daily operations and systems support to personnel.
  • Verifies functionality of hardware and software components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance or higher is required prior to start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification for DoD IAM 8570 compliance, Comptia Security + CE.
  • Minimum 5 years RMF process and implementation experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience remediating SCAP and ACAS scan results.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience administering and managing McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
  • Familiarity working in an Agile environment.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and administering both Linux and Microsoft operating systems.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience administering and managing Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and DNS.
  • Experience with Virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS for switch/router/IPS configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), DISA STIG's, and other DoD approved vulnerability scanning assessment tools.
