About the position

The Senior Information Technology Network Engineer is responsible for leading and designing network systems, providing support for network infrastructure, and troubleshooting network hardware and software. This senior role involves overseeing the MWD Enterprise Network infrastructure, which includes various technologies such as Cisco and Arista routers, Palo Alto firewalls, and F5 application load balancing. The position requires a combination of technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the effective operation and optimization of network services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and design network systems.
• Provide support for network systems.
• Track, monitor, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
• Perform network research and development.
• Configure, optimize, install, upgrade, and test network systems.
• Analyze requests and provide customer assistance for solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and six years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and four years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing data center and campus networks.
• Knowledge and experience managing multiple network operating systems, including cloud systems.
• CCIE Cisco Certified Internetworking Engineer or equivalent certification.
• Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and security policy management.
• Familiarity with F5 application load balancing and Web Application Firewall services.
• Knowledge of IPAM services for DNS and DHCP.
