About the position

Infrastructure Developers at Thoughtworks play a crucial role in helping clients build and evolve systems that are essential for delivering and running software. This position emphasizes collaboration within diverse teams to find effective solutions that align with organizational needs. The role combines technical expertise with an understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps principles, aiming to enhance technical quality and improve outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

• Work within teams to launch projects through hands-on implementation and evaluate existing infrastructure to drive improvements.
• Explore client needs and collaborate on building a technical roadmap and impactful solutions that support ambitious business goals.
• Shape and build Thoughtworks' cloud and infrastructure practice through collaboration with practitioners, business development, marketing, and capabilities development teams.
• Ensure and build controls and processes for continuous delivery and evolution of infrastructure and applications, driving automation throughout the process.
• Monitor and ensure that technical expectations of deliverables are consistently met on projects.
• Provide expertise and guidance in DevOps, cloud, platform, and infrastructure engineering, both internally and at client sites.
• Establish trusting partnerships with a client's engineering leadership.
• Suggest innovative solutions to current constraints and business policies.

Requirements

• Advanced/fluent English proficiency.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency with Terraform tool.
• Ability to design and implement enterprise and/or web-scale hosting platforms and administer application servers, web servers, and databases.
• Deep understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms, infrastructure automation, and application hosting technologies.
• Experience working with software delivery teams and understanding of DevOps philosophies, Agile methods, and Infrastructure as Code.
• History of working with at least one IaaS cloud platform and two or more application runtime platforms including physical servers, virtual servers, container clusters, serverless, and databases.
• Ability to write scripts using at least one scripting language and build Linux servers, Windows servers, or container clusters.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools across different tech stacks.
• Familiarity with monitoring systems for availability, performance, or security.
• Understanding of security concerns, threats, and approaches for dealing with them, including infrastructure platform vulnerabilities, secrets management, network security, and software supply chain security.
