About the position

The Senior Infrastructure Design Architect at Mastercard is responsible for leading the design and analysis of infrastructure frameworks that align with the company's operational standards and engineering principles. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that the infrastructure meets security, scalability, reliability, and availability standards, while also driving the definition of new architectural standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements and conduct infrastructural analysis to produce robust designs adhering to Mastercard technologies.
  • Meet with peers, engineers, application teams, and users to ensure all high-level requirements are met.
  • Generate Technical Architecture Documents, technical memos, logical flows, and models to keep stakeholders updated on architecture and infrastructure layout.
  • Maintain all architectural products in the most current state to prevent obsolescence.
  • Implement, manage, and support application infrastructure components using current standards and best practices.
  • Resolve internet architectural and operational problems impacting infrastructure and product availability and performance globally.
  • Lead and collaborate to define new standards.
  • Research and evaluate new technology for potential deployment in Mastercard's internet infrastructure.
  • Assume lead accountability for ongoing regional projects, including planning, time and cost control, and resource utilization.
  • Contribute to incident/problem diagnosis and root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Web application architecture and project delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Java Virtual Machine and Garbage collection.
  • Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application firewalls.
  • Advanced knowledge of network and operating system principles.
  • Vast knowledge of middleware technologies (Web Servers, Application Servers, Queue Managers, Messaging, Caching).
  • Working knowledge of Database technologies and cloud technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of techniques to achieve non-functional requirements like reliability, availability, resilience, performance, and security.
  • Working knowledge of Role Based Access Control, Authentication, and Authorization mechanisms.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
