About the position

Applied Signal Technology (AST) is seeking exceptional Senior Infrastructure/Network Engineers to work on high-impact programs that contribute to national security. This role involves collaborating with top R&D professionals to design, develop, test, and deliver advanced high-capacity systems for modern communications. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, with responsibilities including creating and presenting briefings to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and oversee the design, development, testing, and delivery of advanced high-capacity systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to generate ideas and make decisions that enhance product capabilities.
  • Create and present briefings to team members, customers, and management.
  • Work on SIGINT principles and concepts alongside industry-recognized technical leaders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in infrastructure/network engineering.
  • Experience with developing in Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Proficiency in Linux, especially Red Hat based distributions.
  • Experience with system administration and enterprise-grade networking equipment (Cisco, Arista, Juniper).
  • Knowledge of virtualization technology (KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
  • Experience with configuration management systems (Puppet, Ansible, Salt).
  • Experience designing and setting up networks and data centers.
  • Ability to verify and validate software and system functionality.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Degree in STEM or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with User Interface development.
  • Experience with enterprise-grade storage equipment.
  • Strong experience with object-oriented programming languages.
  • Basic understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and/or signal processing.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized systems.
  • Experience with process improvement and automated system deployments.
  • Existing TS/SCI with Poly (Active within the last 24 months).
