About the position

The Senior Instructional Designer and Project Manager at Purdue University is responsible for developing instructional materials and enhancing existing courses to support STEM education. This role involves collaboration with faculty to create instructional assets, participate in curriculum development, and evaluate course effectiveness. The position also includes project management responsibilities for a grant-funded initiative aimed at integrating character development into engineering and computing curricula across multiple institutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop instructional materials and enhance existing courses for STEM education.
• Collaborate with faculty to create instructional assets and course modules.
• Design digital and non-digital course content and participate in curriculum development projects.
• Perform course evaluations and measure learning outcomes.
• Assist with project management tasks.
• Serve on an interdisciplinary team to develop faculty skills for course design and transformation.
• Create Open Educational Resources for the undergraduate STEM education community.
• Coordinate and participate in a Community of Inquiry with faculty from multiple institutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Instructional Design and project management.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in instructional design or similar.
• Experience in Higher Education.
• Experience working with faculty in computing and/or engineering programs.
• Experience with competency-based curricula.
• Experience with creation of materials and/or assessment tools for cross-disciplinary skills or dispositions.
• Teaching experience.
