About the position

The Senior Instructional Designer at First American Financial Corporation is responsible for developing high-quality learning content using established instructional design processes. This role involves conducting needs analysis, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing effective learning solutions to enhance employee performance and align training with business objectives. The position emphasizes project management, critical thinking, and the use of various design tools to create engaging training materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial quality learning content using industry accepted instructional design processes (ADDIE, ARCS, Gagne, Bloom's, etc.).
• Perform high-level organizational needs/job analysis and communicate development requirements effectively.
• Prescribe recommended learning solutions, implementation, and project planning.
• Determine appropriate and effective learning methods for diverse work groups.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure learning objectives are met.
• Present complex information using instructionally effective methods.
• Analyze training effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
• Track employee performance and measure training outcomes.
• Recommend training methods and assist in aligning training with business objectives.
• Facilitate leadership and employee development programs, including content design and online automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of experience designing training for adult audiences in a professional environment (commercial or corporate).
• Experience managing projects with complex inter-dependencies.
• Instructional design certificate from an industry recognized organization (ATD, eLearning Guild, Langevin, etc.).
• 2-3 years demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role.
