Iron Mountain is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer (Sales Enablement) to join our team in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In this role, you will leverage multimedia technology and authoring tools to create interactive and engaging learning experiences tailored for our internal learners. As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to identify the training needs of our target audience. You will be responsible for developing measurable learning objectives and ensuring that the content aligns with these objectives. Your role will involve writing concise, creative, and effective learning materials while applying your knowledge of instructional design theory to create course content. You will work closely with management, trainers, e-Learning specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure the training materials are effective and engaging. You will utilize your understanding of adult learning theory to select appropriate training media and methodologies based on the audience's learning styles and the course content. The instructional design will cater to various formats, including traditional classroom settings, online classrooms, self-paced online modules, or a blend of these approaches. Your experience in adult learning theory, social and mobile learning, and curriculum design will be crucial in building and enhancing e-learning, instructor-led, and blended educational programs. You will also create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer across different learning styles, utilizing formats such as audio, video, simulations, role plays, scenario-based learning, micro-learnings, and games. Additionally, you will partner with teams to monitor the completion, comprehension, and retention of the deployed content, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Responsibilities

  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience's training needs.
  • Develop measurable objectives and ensure content aligns with those objectives.
  • Write concise, creative, and effective learning materials.
  • Apply knowledge of instructional design theory to design course content, collaborating with subject matter experts, management, trainers/facilitators, and e-Learning specialists.

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer in various formats.
  • Partner with teams to monitor completion, comprehension, and retention of the content deployed to identify content effectiveness and continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
  • Experience with multimedia technology and authoring tools for creating e-learning content.
  • Ability to write clear and effective learning materials.
  • Experience in developing measurable learning objectives and aligning content accordingly.
  • Familiarity with various training methodologies and media appropriate for different learning styles.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with subject matter experts and other stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales enablement training.
