About the position

The Senior Instructional Designer will manage and support the College's educational strategy by designing and developing e-learning solutions that align with educational initiatives. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to create impactful educational experiences, utilizing advanced instructional design processes to analyze, develop, implement, and evaluate learning assets for web-based training. The position emphasizes a commitment to continuous improvement and effective learning program development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop short-term and long-term curriculum plans for various educational programs offered by the College.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze educational needs and determine appropriate instructional strategies and content.
  • Create future iteration plans for updates and advancements to deliverables.
  • Apply instructional design principles to create effective e-learning experiences, ensuring content is clear and aligned with learning objectives.
  • Lead the design and development of educational materials, including learner guides, handouts, and job aids.
  • Utilize adult learning theories and instructional design models to design engaging content.
  • Manage multiple projects, building timelines and workflows to meet deadlines.
  • Oversee the complete instructional design process from needs analysis to evaluation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of educational programs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree with certification in Instructional Design, or equivalent experience in instructional design, training, and development.
  • At least 6 years of diverse work experience in an instructional design role.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and project management.
  • Advanced understanding of Instructional Design Methodology (e.g., ADDIE, Universal Design).
  • Experience with Adult Learning Theory and Learning & Development theories.
  • Proficiency in instructional design software/tools (e.g., Articulate 360) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in membership and/or certification associations and their educational programs.
  • Background in Exercise Science.
