About the position

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is seeking a dynamic and engaged Senior Instructional Designer to join our Supervision Learning team. This team manages national commissioning programs and ongoing learning initiatives for Supervision within the Federal Reserve System. Our collaborative environment is composed of staff from all 12 Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors, who operate virtually and meet periodically in person. We pride ourselves on creating custom learning solutions that utilize leading-edge technology, ranging from quick-to-market deliverables to comprehensive training curricula. In this role, you will report to a Manager and collaborate with our team to create and develop engaging learning experiences. Your expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and industry best practices will be essential in helping our clients solve their strategic business problems. We welcome individuals from various backgrounds, including instructional design, user experience design, technical writing, or technology/graphics. You will work onsite at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, contributing to the development of innovative learning solutions that meet the needs of our diverse clientele.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members and senior stakeholders to identify, design, develop, and implement learning solutions of high complexity, leveraging instructional design standards and best practices.
• Demonstrate superior interpersonal skills to cultivate collaborative and consultative relationships with clients, team members, and senior stakeholders in an online business environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in development software and learning delivery technology to create and implement a variety of learning materials and solutions.
• Experiment with existing and new technologies and strategies that enhance organizational outcomes and impact client objectives; continually scan the environment to learn and adopt new technology and processes.
• Encourage diverse thinking to promote and nurture innovation.
• Find and champion the best creative ideas and actively move them into implementation.
• Demonstrate strong judgment in making strategic design decisions and resolving higher-level issues.
• Find and mitigate risks as opportunities to ensure delivery of a successful product and experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design or commensurate experience; Master's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience in instructional design or similar field (i.e. Learning Experience Designer, Learning Technologist, Curriculum Developer, etc.).
• Strong proficiency with instructional design technology tools and best practices.
• Experience establishing organizational relationships with a diverse group of people in a virtual environment.
• Perform as a flexible team member with initiative and thought leadership.
• Excellent business writing, consulting, and delivery skills.
