About the position

Team Carney is seeking a Senior Level Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support a client program in the area of Intelligence. Our ISDs are highly motivated individuals whose primary responsibilities are to analyze, design, develop, and maintain instructional content for web-based and/or instructor-led courses and related training products. This role also involves nurturing, building, and sustaining strategic client partnerships. The position is FULL TIME ONSITE in the Washington DC area, and candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this role. As a Senior Instructional Systems Designer, you will assist and provide guidance on the application of the ADDIE methodology, which is crucial for the systematic design and development of instructional materials. You will support new development through front-end analysis, training design plans, storyboards, assessments, and beta tests. Your responsibilities will include developing detailed course design documents that encompass the course content outline, media treatments, technical specifications, assessment strategy, instructional materials, and recommended design approach for the course. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and updating course storyboards that specify the flow for audio and text of all content, including graphic design for inclusion in the final course product. Conducting and participating in beta tests for products in development, developing and updating assessments for courses, and evaluating products for instructional effectiveness will also be part of your role. You will apply 508 Accessibility standards to all design products and provide quality assurance oversight to all products developed by team ISDs.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Minimum 6 years of Senior level ISD experience without a Bachelor's degree
  • Practical knowledge and expertise in the systematic design and development of instructional materials and effective media
  • Experience with all levels of educational evaluation and the use of effective computer software in the instructional design process

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's degree in a related field (Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or Adult Learning) plus a minimum of 2 years experience with training programs
