About the position

The Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Food & Beverage and related manufacturing industries. This position involves leading the execution of I&C design on services and EPC projects, coordinating engineering efforts, interfacing with clients, and developing industry-specific standards. The engineer will also monitor project schedules and budgets while refining I&C offerings in a rapidly evolving market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design on services and EPC projects.
  • Coordinate I&C engineering efforts and lead I&C team for large multi-discipline projects.
  • Interface with the client to understand needs and develop requirements.
  • Attend client, contractor, and vendor meetings, perform field investigations, review vendor packages, witness factory acceptance testing, and help resolve issues during construction.
  • Monitor and control project schedule and budgets.
  • Develop I&C standards specific to the Food and Beverage Industry.
  • Support development of scope of services and engineering fee proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience in instrumentation, control, and automation design and EPC services.
  • 4+ years' experience in the Food and Beverage industry, including CIP system design.
  • Previous experience with PLC and HMI programming, including field startup and commissioning.
  • Previous experience in designing control panels.
  • Knowledge in design of 480-volt distribution and control wiring is a plus.
  • Experience in consulting or supporting business development.
