About the position

Parsons is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to provide instrumentation and controls for various client projects, including site utility improvements, brownfield modernizations, and greenfield chemical production facilities. The role involves collaboration with other engineers and designers, performing complex engineering tasks, and ensuring the successful design, procurement, installation, and operation of I&C equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performing complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Preparing and checking specifications, location plans, equipment/instrument schedules, datasheets, and other necessary documents.
  • Supporting the commissioning and installation of field equipment.
  • Extracting engineering information from CAD drawings.
  • Preparing engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Completing assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Preparing and issuing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Coordinating activities and deliverables with group leads and other engineers in the I&C discipline.
  • Programming and configuring controls system equipment.
  • Interfacing with other engineers and departments.
  • Preparing detailed requisitions for equipment and materials, reviewing supplier drawing submittals, and performing technical bid analyses.
  • Providing technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Typically 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages associated with engineering.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office/365 suite is expected.
  • Knowledge of various instrument types and hardware for modern control systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as ISA, NFPA/NEC, UFC/UFGS.
  • Knowledge of system design, procurement, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operations/maintenance.

Nice-to-haves
