About the position

As a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating various phases of automation, instrumentation, control, and SCADA projects specifically for water and wastewater utilities. This position is designed for an individual who is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients in the Miami, Orlando, Ft. Myers, and Tampa areas. You will act as a liaison between the local design team and remote design teams, ensuring seamless communication and project execution. Your responsibilities will include leading the execution of I&C design projects, overseeing the coordination of I&C engineering efforts for large multi-discipline projects, and providing local interface by attending client and contractor meetings. You will also be responsible for performing field investigations, attending factory acceptance testing, and resolving any I&C client and construction issues that may arise. Additionally, you will monitor and control project schedules and budgets, assisting with proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities. This role is part of the BV Operations team, which focuses on projects that support the Governments & Environments market sector. Responsibilities

  • Create relationships with clients in the Miami, Orlando, Ft. Myers, and Tampa area and act as a liaison between the local design team, client, and remote design teams.
  • Manage and coordinate marketing, planning, design, and construction phase services for automation, instrumentation, control, and SCADA projects for water and wastewater utilities.
  • Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design projects as well as coordinate I&C engineering efforts for large multi-discipline projects.
  • Provide local interface by attending client and contractor meetings, performing field investigations, attending factory acceptance testing, and helping to resolve I&C client and construction issues.
  • Monitor and control project schedule and budgets and assist with proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience in instrumentation, control, and automation design consulting.
  • 4 years' experience in the water/wastewater industry.
  • 2 years' experience in project management and business development.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
