About the position

As a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at Atlas Copco, you will be responsible for the development and design of PLC-based control systems for engineered centrifugal compressors. This role involves technical support for engineering project teams and field service, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will collaborate with various teams to clarify project specifications and maintain accurate documentation, contributing to the overall success of the projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design PLC-based control systems for centrifugal compressors.
• Review customer specifications and coordinate with engineering teams to clarify project scope.
• Provide technical support in creating and maintaining drawings, bill of materials, and documentation.
• Apply electrical industry standards to compressor instrumentation and control systems.
• Select appropriate electrical and control components based on project specifications.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and vendors regarding engineering issues.
• Conduct design review meetings to ensure accuracy and compliance of control system deliverables.
• Participate in engineering process improvement efforts to eliminate sources of error.
• Propose and contribute design concepts for projects.
• Attend project kick-off meetings, design reviews, and regular team meetings.
• Maintain accurate and organized design records for quality procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years' experience designing PLC-based control and monitoring systems.
