About the position

The Senior Instrumentation Engineer at Worley is responsible for delivering high-quality instrumentation engineering services that comply with regulatory specifications and project requirements. This role involves managing project deliverables, coordinating with clients, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from design to commissioning. The engineer will work independently and apply advanced engineering theories and practices to solve complex problems in the energy and resources sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instrumentation engineering services that meet Worley's, customer, and regulatory specifications on time and within budget.
  • Initiate, manage, and deliver instrumentation engineering project requirements.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and ensure compliance with project change management processes.
  • Develop project deliverables including piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), instrument lists, and installation details.
  • Provide assistance during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including writing requisitions and conducting technical bid evaluations.
  • Coordinate CAD designer time and scope for project document creation and modification.
  • Coordinate with clients and design projects according to their preferences.
  • Assist with project budgeting and scheduling requirements.
  • Proactively resolve discrepancies between Worley and customer requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in instrumentation engineering.
  • Assist and support other personnel within the instrument engineering team as required.
  • Communicate effectively with the engineering team and project stakeholders.
  • Identify issues and develop appropriate solutions, seeking assistance when necessary.

Requirements

  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Sound knowledge of fundamental requirements of instrument engineering and related fields.
  • Knowledge of applicable local and international standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with instrument engineering specific software and MS Office Suite.
  • Practical experience in instrument engineering within a similar industry, including multi-disciplinary projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineering License is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of process flow diagrams is a plus.
