About the position

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Intelligence Technical Editor to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the quality and accuracy of mission-critical intelligence reports. Your primary responsibilities will include proofreading, editing, and revising documents to ensure they meet the highest standards of presentation and compliance. You will be working on-site at the Pentagon, contributing to the production of intelligence publications that are vital for our national security efforts. As a Senior Intelligence Technical Editor, you will ensure that all assigned documents adhere to required presentation standards, including the correct use of paragraph headings, numbering, and bibliographic styles. You will be responsible for maintaining consistency in technical abbreviations, acronyms, and the handling of illustrative materials. Your role will also involve planning, scheduling, and coordinating the editing and production workflow, providing both immediate solutions for workflow issues and long-term strategies for improvement. In addition to your editing responsibilities, you will provide technical guidance to team members, helping to familiarize new hires and temporary personnel with the necessary formats and standards. You will review completed assignments to ensure they conform to company standards and assist authors with cost and time estimates, production plans, and delivery schedules. This position requires a strong commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance of all assigned documents with required presentation standards.
  • Maintains consistency in technical abbreviations, acronyms, and illustrative materials.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates the editing, proofreading, and production workflow.
  • Provides quick-fix and long-term solutions for workflow problems.
  • Offers technical guidance to assigned personnel in completing assignments.
  • Familiarizes newly hired and temporary personnel with required formats and standards.
  • Reviews completed assignments for conformance with company standards.
  • Assists authors/requestors with cost and time estimates, production plans, and delivery schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, English/Journalism, or related field.
  • 8+ years of related work experience, including at least 5 years in proofreading and editing technical engineering publications.
  • Experience with producing all-source intelligence analysis and managing production of analysis products.
  • Ability to proofread, edit, and correct text for style and accuracy.
  • Ability to apply IC analytic standards and analytic tradecraft standards as defined in Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) 203 and ICD 206.
  • Ability to prepare intelligence assessments with an emphasis on logical argumentation and analytic clarity.
  • Ability to support shift work.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph or willingness to obtain a polygraph.
