About the position

The Senior Interior Designer will play a crucial role in a mid-size architecture and interiors studio specializing in healthcare design. This position involves collaborating with clients and project teams to create innovative design solutions that enhance healing environments. The designer will be responsible for managing projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to building codes and design standards while fostering effective communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and coordinate with clients, Design Leaders, and project teams to develop innovative design concepts for healthcare clients.
  • Participate in the planning process, including design elements, ceiling design, and material selection.
  • Prepare and develop drawings, models, images, and materials related to the design.
  • Research materials and products, producing samples and visioning materials.
  • Coordinate the design team, defining project requirements and schedules.
  • Manage work progress and collaborate closely with design and project teams.
  • Present design concepts to clients and articulate the rationale behind design choices.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of professional experience in healthcare interior design or architecture design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture or professional equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of interior design and architectural building materials and finishes.
  • Knowledge of current building and fire codes, design standards, and construction techniques.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate design teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading design teams.
  • Knowledge of HCAI (Healthcare California Agency for Innovation).
