About the position

The Senior Interior Designer for the Justice+Civic team at DLR Group is responsible for leading design projects from conception through construction administration, focusing on public-sector and government design. This role emphasizes collaboration, client interaction, and mentorship within a hybrid work environment, aiming to create interior spaces that enhance the human experience. The designer will also engage in business development and contribute to the firm's mission of promoting equity and transformation through design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs from conception through construction administration.
  • Lead project design efforts and client interactions.
  • Mentor staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Create and lead design vision and direction for concepts.
  • Set vision and direction for material palettes.
  • Review and provide feedback for team development.
  • Contribute to the development of Construction Documents and specifications.
  • Direct the development of Furniture packages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
  • NCIDQ Certification.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Public-sector and/or Government design industry.
  • Proficient in computer modeling and rendering software.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and time management skills.
