About the position

The Senior Interior Designer for the Justice + Civic team at DLR Group is responsible for leading design projects from conception through construction administration. This role emphasizes collaboration with clients and team members to create impactful interior environments that enhance the human experience. The designer will mentor junior staff, contribute to business development, and ensure the integration of evidence-based design solutions in public-sector projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs from conception through construction administration.
  • Lead project design efforts and client interactions.
  • Mentor staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities.
  • Contribute to the development of Construction Documents and specifications.
  • Direct the development of Furniture packages and provide QA/QC role.
  • Set vision and direction for material palettes and design concepts.
  • Collaborate with design team members throughout all phases of the design process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
  • NCIDQ Certification.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Public-sector and/or Government design industry.
  • Proficient in computer modeling and rendering software.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and time management skills.
