About the position

The Senior Interior Designer at Canoo Technologies is responsible for creating innovative design proposals for electric vehicles, supporting the Interior Director throughout the design process. This role requires a strong ability to illustrate ideas in both 2D and 3D, and to collaborate effectively with various departments to deliver production-ready design solutions. The position emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and communication skills, as the designer will present concepts to executives and work closely with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposals for both production and concept vehicles using 2D sketching, 3D modeling, and 3D rendering abilities
• Interact collaboratively across many different departments and functions
• Perform benchmarking of competitive vehicles/products
• Research product/industrial design, material, and future mobility trends
• Present strategies, vision, and innovation to executives
• Work closely with studio engineering to bring designs into production
• Support CAS and clay 3D modelers with clear and representative drawings/renderings to develop designs in 3D
• Work efficiently and creatively on multiple programs at once
• Incorporate criteria to meet engineering and manufacturing requirements for design execution
• Communicate design ideas clearly and comfortably to the team in a competitive environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in industrial / transportation / automotive design
• 5+ years' experience in OEM or startup automotive design studios
• Highly capable with Autodesk Alias, Blender, and Keyshot
• Experience overseeing the development of components/vehicles from initial designs to final production
• Ability to create a presentation telling a compelling story
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office suites.

• Preparation of presentations for upper management
• Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems.
