About the position

The Senior Interior Designer for the K-12 Education Sector at DLR Group will play a pivotal role in collaborating with an integrated design team to oversee projects from pre-design through construction administration. This position emphasizes mentorship, client interaction, and the development of design concepts, while also contributing to marketing and business development activities. The successful candidate will be recognized as an industry expert and will work towards enhancing the design process through evidence-based solutions and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design of projects from pre-design and programming through construction administration.
• Mentor staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Set vision and direction for design concepts and presentations.
• Lead internal project reviews and provide feedback to the team.
• Contribute to the development of Construction Documents and specifications, including QA/QC roles.
• Participate in marketing and business development activities, including interviews and firm research projects.
• Develop sector tools and marketing materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in interior design or equivalent.
• 10 years of commercial design experience.
• NCIDQ (or equivalent) license.
• Ability to work independently and in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team building skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Industry involvement in relevant Campus market sector organizations.
• Proficiency with Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency with SketchUp and/or 3D rendering software.
• Interest in Healthy Materials and sustainable building design.
